Soheil Qasum is the 53-year-old man who was shot dead Thursday on Road 7814 between Tamra and I'belin, located in the western Lower Galilee. MDA teams that arrived at the scene performed CPR on him but were forced to pronounce him dead. Kasem was a candidate for elections to the village council.

The police said: "An investigation has been opened following a shooting incident at a man near Route 70. As a result of the shooting, a 53-year-old resident of I'blin was pronounced dead."
