The IDF confirmed Friday morning that Sergeant Oz Shmuel Ardi, 19, from Kibbutz Hazor, was killed last night in battle in the southern Gaza Strip. The funeral of Ardi, a soldier in the 603rd Engineer Battalion in the Sa'ar Golan Division (7), will be held at 12:30 p.m. at the civilian cemetery in Kibbutz Hazor. Four fighters were seriously injured in various incidents in the Gaza Strip: an officer in Battalion 51, a reserve officer in Battalion 7029, and two reservists from Battalions 710 and 2855.
It was also permitted for publication that the body of Eliya Toledano, who was kidnapped from the party in Re'im, was rescued in recent days by an IDF force and transferred to Israel. The body was recovered by fighters from the 551st Brigade and Unit 504 of the Intelligence Directorate, commanded by the 162nd Division.
