The Iron Sword War that broke out on October 7 continues at high intensity in the Gaza Strip and on the northern border. Regular IDF soldiers and reservists continue to fight against Hamas terrorists in the south and against the Hezbollah terrorist organization in the north.
Now, after 75 days of intense fighting, the army has begun to divide the forces a bit and refresh the soldiers exhausted from the fierce fighting. Thus, a round began between fighters returning home for a short break until they returned to carry out their next missions.
One of the fighters who was refreshed at home was Asher Elitzur, the youngest of 8 siblings in an ultra-Orthodox family from the city of Elad. Asher serves in an Arrow company in the paratroopers and has not seen the house since the beginning of the war.
On Thursday, he arrived at the synagogue where his father, who was also a paratrooper in his youth, attends and surprised him.
The excited father choked on tears and blessed "Shema Yisrael" and "Blessed is the good and benevolent."
