The forces of the "Bezeq" Division (99), which are maneuvering for the first time in Gaza, completed a divisional operation in the area south of the city, during which they expanded the IDF's area of activity in the central Gaza Strip.
The division, comprised of reserve commandos, paratroopers and armored personnel, completed an operation in the Bakshi neighborhood, south of Gaza City, to eliminate Hamas Nuseirat Battalion terrorists, destroy underground infrastructure and weapons.
The operation was intended to establish the operational control of IDF forces in the central Gaza Strip in the buffer between the northern Gaza Strip and the central camps.

In the Bakshi area, division fighters from the "Ram" brigades (179) and the "Marom" foxes (646) eliminated terrorists, located large quantities of weapons, including rocket launchers, motorcycles and IEDs, and destroyed shafts in part of which had significant water and electricity infrastructure. The airstrike eliminated a squad of terrorists who fired RPGs at the forces from the Bakshi municipality building.
Concurrently with the operation in the Bakshi neighborhood, fighters of the Yiftach Brigade (11) are working to cleanse the western neighborhoods of Gaza City. During the raids, large quantities of weapons were found, some of which were hidden inside play dolls and under children's beds. The reserve fighters of the Yiftach Brigade, together with engineer fighters, destroyed the weapons caches that were found.
So far, the division's fighters have eliminated many terrorists, located shafts and directed airstrikes to thwart terrorists and threats in the area.
