The Iron Sword War caused many Israelis to cancel their vacations abroad. The main destinations affected were destinations defined as vacation destinations. One of these destinations is Phuket, Thailand, where many Israelis have arrived in recent years, but direct flights to it were canceled at the beginning of the fighting.
EL AL announced today that direct flights to Phuket will resume from February 1, due to the high demand for "ventilation" vacations. As we published this morning, there is a growing demand for flights for vacations, as evidenced by the numbers of passengers this morning at Ben Gurion Airport, which are breaking a record for more than two months – 24,<> passengers passed through and will pass through there today.

Flight prices to Phuket are more expensive during the requested period, between February and April, but after that you can find direct EL AL flights to Phuket at prices ranging around $680. Direct flights to Phuket will depart three times a week, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
It is important to remember that currently, flights to Thailand take the long route and take just over 11 hours to Bangkok and about half an hour longer to Phuket. Until before the war, flights to Thailand and most eastern destinations took the shortened route over Saudi Arabia and Oman, but now El Al takes a longer route and the flight took about three hours.
