Hundreds of Eilat residents took part Monday morning in a march to the grave of Lidor Yosef Karwani, z"l, who fell in Gaza on the one-week anniversary of his fall. A motorcade from Eilat, of which Lidor was a friend, accompanied his family to the military section of the cemetery and paid their last respects to the hero of Israel.

Lidor z"l, a soldier in the 8163rd Engineer Battalion, came to Eilat with his family in 2005 from Moshav Mevkim, after the evacuation of Gush Katif. He completed his military service in combat engineering in Reim, where he met his wife Racheli, and after October 7 reported to the reserves to defend the country.
Lidor was killed by anti-tank fire at a military Humvee in battle in the northern Gaza Strip. He was 23 years old.
