The Iranian regime and the leadership of the Hezbollah terrorist organization sent threatening messages to Israel on Monday evening following the assassination of senior IRGC official Sayyid Reddy Mousavi in Damascus.

Hezbollah threatened that "the Zionist enemy committed a new crime by eliminating Syria. We see this assassination as a clear and cross-border attack. Mousavi was one of the best brothers who worked to support the resistance in Lebanon for decades. We send condolences to Imam Ali Khamenei and the leadership of the Revolutionary Guards."

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said earlier that "Israel will pay tomorrow for its crime against Sayyid Rada." The Iranian foreign ministry announced that "Iran will reserve the right to respond at the appropriate time and place."

According to Arab reports in Syria, around noon an airstrike was carried out in the area of Sayyida Zaynab in southeastern Damascus. Iran's Tasnim News Agency reported that senior IRGC official Sayyid Reddy Mousavi was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Syria. Now, both Iran and Lebanon are promising revenge for Mousavi's death.
