Following the cancellation of the planned discussion on the future of the Gaza Strip after the war, this coming Tuesday the issue will be discussed in the expanded political-security cabinet.

At the end of yesterday's meeting of the Religious Zionism party, the party announced that it would remain vigilant in order to "prevent any attempt to advance in a hurry a political plan that means stopping the war, continuing the existence of Hamas and returning the Palestinian Authority to Gaza in one launderette or another."
They stressed that the establishment of the War Cabinet and the exclusion of the party from the day-to-day conduct of the war was an illegitimate and even problematic demand of Benny Gantz. However, they agreed to this in order to enable the rapid establishment of a national emergency government.

"We will insist that all strategic decisions, and certainly decisions regarding the future of Gaza, be made only in the security cabinet, where all parties in the government are represented – those who will challenge the old thinking. Not in the small war cabinet where past perceptions and concepts are overrepresented, from which all of us, as a people, have already become disillusioned."
The future for Gaza appears to be chaos, according to a security source. He said there was no possibility of the complete elimination of all Hamas terrorists, which would deter foreign countries from taking responsibility for the Gaza Strip. He added that Israel was looking for professional elements – heads of clans, influential figures or the PA – inside Gaza to take responsibility where they lived.
