The IDF and Shin Bet announced on Thursday that they had killed the head of operational staff of the northern Gaza Strip and senior Islamic Jihad operative Mamdouh Lulu.
Over the years, Lulu assisted the heads of the northern Gaza Strip in organizing Palestinian Islamic Jihad and was in contact with senior PIJ officials abroad. Lulu was killed in an IDF aircraft attack, led by the Fire and Intelligence Center in the Southern Command and under the guidance of the Shin Bet and the Intelligence Directorate.

He was a central figure in Islamic Jihad, initiating and leading many terrorist attacks and attacks from Gaza against the State of Israel, routinely and during the war.
