US Secretary of State Antony Blinken landed in Israel on Tuesday and held a series of meetings with Prime Minister Netanyahu, President Herzog, Defense Minister Galant and a cabinet meeting. During his meeting with Benny Gantz, chairman of the state camp at the Kirya in Tel Aviv, Blinken expressed his expectation that Israel would begin drawing the outlines for the day after.
Although he told Netanyahu, Herzog and cabinet members that some Arab countries would support Gaza's development process if Israel committed to a broad political solution, Blinken did not appear to bring much news from his recent trips to the Middle East. The US Secretary of State visited Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, but no Arab country expressed willingness to take responsibility for the Gaza Strip and participate in the Gaza regime.

Back at the meeting, Gantz told Blinken that he agreed it was important to outline the contours of the day after, but noted that it was still a time of war. Gantz stressed to the US Secretary of State that Israel is committed to completing the mission and removing the threat posed by Hamas in the south and to bring about a change in the security situation from the north in order to allow the residents to return to these two areas. In addition, the two discussed the need to promote an outline for the return of the abductees as well as normalization processes.
