Arnaldi, No. 41, succumbed 6-7(5) 7-6(7) 6-4, after a battle of almost three and a half hours, to Chilean Nicolas Jarry, No. 18 in the rankings and second seed, after missing a match-point in the tie-break of the second set. Sonego also said goodbye to Adelaide in the round of 28: the 46-year-old from Turin, No. 6 ATP, was defeated 4-7 6-10(29) by the American Sebastian Korda, No. <> in the rankings.
