Italy dominates the European Skating Championships in Kaunas, Lithuania: Matteo Guarise and Lucrezia Beccari won gold in the artistic pairs competition while the other Italian pair Rebecca Ghilardi and Filippo Ambrosini won bronze. Silver for Anastasiia Metelkina and Luka Berulava from Georgia.
A race full of twists and turns. Third at the end of Wednesday's short program, Beccari and Guarise scored 199.19 points thanks to a failless performance in the freestyle, skated to the music of the musical "Cats." Silver went to Georgia's Anastasiia Metelkina and Luka Berulava (196.16 points) who finished in first place yesterday.
In the absence of the Russian skaters, excluded due to the war in Ukraine, Italy conquered a second podium with the bronze of Rebecca Ghilardi and Filipo Ambrosini (195.68).
The previous day's standings were completely turned upside down as German favourites Minerva Fabienne Hase and Nikita Volodin, who were second yesterday, were relegated to fifth place.
