DECRYPTION – An algorithm developed by American researchers has succeeded in determining the biological sex of people from the analysis of their MRI results. A challenge that has resisted neurologists for a long time.

Does a man's brain work differently from a woman's?

Until then, neuroscientists did not have the answer: we had known for a long time that biological sex determines the production of hormones by the brain.

And that if we compare the size, constitution or volume of brain regions, the brains of men and women are not entirely similar.

However, scientists have never come to the conclusion that the organization and functioning of brain regions were diametrically opposed depending on biological sex ,

underlines Christophe Rodo, neuroscientist and creator of the podcast “The Head in the Brain”.

Even though these parameters differ between individuals.

Recently, a team of American neurologists from Stanford University in California tackled the issue by focusing on a trendy approach: artificial intelligence.

And they do find a cerebral difference…
