Oil prices rose today after a report by the American Petroleum Institute showed a decline in crude inventories in the United States.
Brent crude futures rose 59 cents, or 1 percent, to $ 60.10 a barrel.
US West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose 70 cents, or 1.3 percent, to $ 55.63 a barrel.
Data from the American Petroleum Institute showed a sharp decline in crude stocks in the United States last week as imports fell as stocks fell by 11.1 million barrels compared with analysts' expectations of a decline of about 2 million barrels.
