The Economic Committee in the Presidency of the Council of Ministers discussed today ways to develop and support the Damascus International Fair and meet the demands of exhibitors and producers to reflect positively on the economic reality in Syria, on the sidelines of the Damascus International Fair.
During the meeting held in the exhibition city, the committee members reviewed the government's vision for the export process and its executive mechanisms and the necessity of activating it through preparing a list of exportable items and identifying the countries targeted for Syrian products in order to support the national economy in addition to expanding advertising and promoting products.
During the meeting, a proposal on export subsidies was put forward for discussion in the Cabinet for approval on the support of shipping expenses for exports by 15 percent for all products contracted for export during the exhibition and 20 percent for agricultural products.
The members of the Committee stressed the readiness to provide all facilities for exhibitors participating in the Damascus International Fair at its current session.
The meeting was attended by the Ministers of Finance, Agriculture, Agrarian Reform, Social Affairs, Labor, Economy, Foreign Trade, Telecommunications, Technology, Industry, Tourism, Internal Trade, Consumer Protection, State for Investment Affairs, Chairman of the Planning and International Cooperation Authority, and Secretary General of the Council of Ministers.
