According to a US law firm, Boeing has reached first agreements to compensate survivors of the plane crash in Indonesia. Plaintiff lawyer Alexandra Wisner confirmed that she had reached comparisons for 11 of the 17 clients of her law firm. "I am confident that we can settle the remaining claims in the near future."
Concerning the amount of compensation, it was agreed not to do so. The news agency Reuters reported with reference to negotiating circles, the sum amounts to at least 1.2 million dollars (1.1 million euros) per victim. Boeing did not have to admit liability in the compromise.
The aircraft manufacturer did not want to comment on demand. The crash of a Boeing 737 Max Lion Air aircraft on October 29, 2018 in Indonesia killed all 189 people on board. On March 10, another crash occurred on a similar Boeing jet in Ethiopia, killing 157 people.
