The 737 Max series, which was banned after two crashes, is further slowing Boeing's business. In the first nine months of 2019, aircraft deliveries collapsed by 47 percent compared to the same period last year. This emerges from a published on Tuesday statistics of the US group.
Boeing falls further behind the European arch rivals - for the first time in years, Airbus should thus be in the lead in the industry.
The reason: In the first three quarters brought Boeing 302 aircraft to customers, Airbus is with 571 delivered jets in the annual balance, however, already almost unassailable front.
In September, Boeing even delivered only 26 machines, compared to 87 at the same time last year. In contrast, Airbus delivered 71 aircraft in September. The Europeans had already more than doubled their profits in the first half of the year and made up ground against US competitor Boeing.
