The American Aerospace Industry Group (BoI) has stopped flying about 50 Boeing 37NJs after cracks were discovered in its structures.
A spokesman for the group told Agence France-Presse that "about a thousand of these aircraft have been examined so far and found that about 50 of them need to stop flying until they are repaired."
The decision comes shortly after Australian airline Qantas announced that one of the planes had been banned from flying after a crack was discovered.
It is noteworthy that more than 40 countries stopped flights on Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft after the crash of the Ethiopian plane that killed 157 people, the second of such a model in recent months.
