Hessian authorities have ensured in the context of the food scandal of the sausage maker Wilke 1.6 tons of grilled torches and skewers. The goods must be destroyed because it can not be ruled out that it comes from Wilke, said the Ministry of Consumer Protection in Wiesbaden. Already in October, the authorities had disposed of 300 tons of leftover stocks of the company Wilke.
The trigger was an anonymous ad that went on October 18 at the Regional Council Kassel and attention to the hitherto unknown distribution of barbecue torches and meat skewers in the district Waldeck-Frankenberg.
The goods should therefore be made exclusively from products of the company Wilke and sold over stalls at major events such as concerts, markets and in the fair business.

The competent authority had pursued the suspicion on the same day, the ministry said. The company where the goods were found has been able to prove that since October 2019 it has been buying meat from other establishments. However, it was not completely certain that no Wilke sausage was in the stocks. The find was reported to the Criminal Investigation Department.
