Minister of Electricity Mohammad Zuhair Kharboutli stressed the importance of cooperation with the Iranian private sector in the field of supply and production of electrical equipment.
Kharboutli said during a meeting with representatives of the private sector active in the field of electricity industry and various electrical equipment in Tehran, `` The infrastructure has become suitable for the establishment of strategic projects in the field of renewable energies solar and wind, meters and high tensions and transformers, after security and stability prevailed in most of the Syrian territory. Kharboutli briefed the representatives of the private sector on their field of work and the possibility of benefiting from it in supporting, rehabilitation and development of the Syrian electricity system, stressing the establishment of a partnership between the two sides to settle the metering industry in Syria and the installation of new stations and rehabilitation of stations that have been sabotaged by terrorist organizations.
They also reviewed and reviewed the reality of the work of Iranian companies operating in the field of the electrical sector in Syria and the emphasis on the implementation of the signed projects and work on the implementation of new ones as required by the next phase of reconstruction and drive the production process.
For their part, representatives of the private sector confirmed full readiness to cooperate with the Syrian side to develop the electricity system.
The meeting was attended by Syrian Ambassador to Tehran Dr. Adnan Mahmoud and Hassan Danaee Far, Advisor to the First Vice President of Iran and Chairman of the Committee for the Development of Iranian-Syrian-Iraqi Economic Relations.
Syria and Iran signed in Tehran earlier today a memorandum of understanding aimed at developing and stabilizing the electricity system in Syria and self-reliance and the localization of technology and the manufacture of electrical equipment in Syria.
