The working conditions at parcel service providers are considered bad. About subcontractors are apparently constantly pressed wages, even if the package companies deny this. With a new law, parcel couriers in Germany are now better protected against exploitation.
The Federal Council has now approved the so-called subcontractor liability for the parcel sector. This is to ensure that social contributions are paid correctly. Parcel deliverers should already benefit from the new rules during the Christmas season.
The mail-order companies should therefore be liable in the future if subcontractors pay no social contributions. This should mean that parcel carriers are socially secured, if this is not yet the case.
