Audi boss Bram Schot is expected to leave the VW group completely. The SPIEGEL has learned from circles of the Supervisory Board. Audi does not want to comment on the information.
Already last week, the SPIEGEL had reported that the VW Supervisory Board wants to discuss a change of boss at Audi on Friday. The successor to Schot has long been the former BMW CEO Markus Duesmann. He is to take over the chief position at Audi in early April 2020.
So far, it was still unclear whether Schot would still remain on the board of the parent company Volkswagen despite his retreat at Audi. There he is currently responsible for worldwide sales. It was thought that Schot could also take over responsibility for the China business. But this option has now been smashed, they say.
Concrete reasons were not mentioned. From Schots environment was last reported but that Audi managers have offers from other companies. In addition, his relationship with CEO Herbert Diess is considered undercooled. However, Schot will leave the company on the best of terms, says an insider.
