Put Ibn al-Nafis conversion station service at a cost of 6.5 billion pounds

DAMASCUS, (SANA) - On the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the Corrective Movement, the Ministry of Electricity has established the Ibn Al-Nafi Conversion Station

On the occasion of the forty-ninth anniversary of the corrective movement, the Ministry of Electricity has put Ibn Al-Nafees 66/20 KV substation into service, which cost about 6.5 billion Syrian pounds.

The station, which was implemented with the latest technology, helps to stabilize the power supply in Damascus city, reduce the electrical loads and ensure the reliability and stability of the feed.The station provides a high safety and reliability factor as the workers are not exposed to any danger such as old stations and their equipment closed and internal and the area is three times less than the normal station.

Minister of Electricity Mohammad Zuhair Kharboutli said in a statement to reporters that the station was implemented by national cadres and expertise and will contribute to the treatment of electrical loads in a large number of neighborhoods of the city of Damascus and is part of a series of projects implemented by the ministry to rehabilitate the electrical system and build new plants.

The Director General of the Public Electricity Transmission Corporation Eng. Rowad Al-Zaher pointed out that the station is very advanced and is controlled by the system "SCADA" remote control and will ensure the reliability and stability of the electrical system among the Director of Damascus Electricity Engineer Haitham Almelaa that the station feeds Barzeh prefabricated houses and corner of religion and east Its boulevards and part of Barzeh will alleviate the forced rationing that was previously taking place at Masaken Barzeh and Mazra'a stations.

The inauguration of the station was attended by the Governor of Damascus, Eng. Adel Olabi, the Assistant Minister of Electricity and a number of concerned managers.
