The main index of the Damascus Securities Exchange increased at the end of the first week of this month by about 24.35 points from last week, reinforced by positive results of 4 companies with the financial results of listed companies to close at 5541.46 points, a positive change of 0.44 percent.
The blue-chip index, which was launched on March 3, also gained 26.41 points, or 3.09 percent, to close at 880.65 points.
This week, 17 companies traded on their shares, reaching a volume of 504,649 shares distributed among 539 transactions with a total value of 312.370 million pounds.
This week witnessed changes in the shares of 10 companies, including shares of four companies, a share of Al Baraka Bank by 2.70 percent and closed at the price of 777.52 pounds and Sham Bank by 4.62 percent and closed at 554.99 pounds and shares of the International Bank for Trade and Finance by 4.95 percent and closed at 348 pounds Shares in Syriatel rose 4.02 percent and closed at 4169.23 pounds.
The six decliners were Al Badia and Al Ahlia Cement Company, Fransabank, Qatar National Bank, Al Sharq Bank and Syria International Islamic Bank.
