World gold prices fell today despite their trend towards a weekly gain.

Reuters reported that gold prices in spot transactions fell 0.2 percent to 1473.16 dollars an ounce and US gold futures fell 0.3 percent to 1478 dollars.

The precious metal is still on track for gains for the second week in a row despite some losses to rise about 0.7 percent since the beginning of the week, where gold reached a one-month high at $ 1484 an ounce last Wednesday.

Palladium was little changed at $ 1,871.34, after rising to a record $ 1,876.4 an ounce yesterday on supply concerns. Platinum also settled at $ 896.63, while silver prices fell 0.3 percent to $ 16.89.
