A new business start is being witnessed by the Syrian Arab Dairy Company “Damascus Dairy” according to those responsible for it, with the completion of rehabilitation and maintenance work for several auxiliary departments and production lines that meet the needs of the local market despite difficulties related to the abundance of raw materials and qualified cadres.
In a statement to a SANA representative, the director of the company, Ali Mahmoud, stated that the technically accomplished work during the last four months included the rehabilitation of the water desalination unit that has been in the company and which has been suspended for about ten years and put it in service to secure clean water for the production process and maintain the Kashkavan department with its machinery and equipment and put it in service in addition to Providing the department's refrigerator room.
Mahmoud pointed out a maintenance procedure for the 7-room canned cold rooms, put them in service, connected to a pasteurization device that has been in existence since 2013, maintenance of the water network in the company to reduce waste, and a complete maintenance of a transport refrigerator for the need to transfer the company's products, pointing to the cooperation of the Ministry of Industry and the General Corporation for Food Industries in providing support and facilities Possible to accomplish this work.
On the productive side, the director of the company revealed the operation of the “milk-labanah” can line starting from last month and delivering 24 tons of canned milk and 17 tons of canned laban during it to the public agencies contracting with it in addition to operating the production line of kashkawan and cooked cheese and the butter line of molds and blades and the obesity department announcing about Signing a contract with one of the public authorities to supply the company's products for the entire year 2020 with a value of two billion pounds of milk, labneh, cooked cheese, and akkawi.
In 2020, according to its manager, the company started production of all types of canned milk, canned labneh, kashkaval cheese, cooked cheese, and akkawi, handing the contracting parties 46 tons of canned milk, 4 tons of canned labneh, 12 tons of cooked cheese, and six tons of akkawi cheese.
On the financial side, Mahmoud pointed to the restructuring of the financial directorate, which suffers from a shortage of cadres in the areas of accounting and costs, the reactivation of the materials department, and the downloading of a material program to migrate all the stores on it indicating that ten years ago, there was no completed budget for the company or correct cost lists, while the final budget completion processes are currently being carried out For the company for the year 2019.
While the company suffers, according to Mahmoud, a lack of technical cadres and expertise in all fields, a lack of raw materials and the difficulty of securing them under the current conditions in addition to the major shortage of raw milk, but it continues to work within the available capabilities.
Mahmoud indicated that the company is about to announce the supply of the central refrigeration unit as part of the investment plan for the year 2020 and the maintenance of sterilized milk line with a plan to produce Ayran milk through maintenance of an old machine, confirming the work to restore the reputation of the dairy company known as ghetto in the market by communicating with distributors and agents and benefiting from their observations About the company's products in addition to changing its covers to keep pace with the local market.
The director of the company revealed the rehabilitation of the infrastructure of the milk collection center in Nabq Al-Sakhr in Quneitra governorate, provided that it is technically equipped during the near stage to supply raw milk from the governorate to the company, indicating the endeavor to supply the company's products to all public entities as they were previously, especially the hospitals of the ministries of health and higher education .
