The British government has indicated that after Brexit it will favor the immigration of skilled workers who will have to have a job offer and meet linguistic criteria in order to obtain a work visa.

Great Britain formally left the European Union last month but remains subject until December 31 to the regulations of the Community bloc. EU citizens can move and work freely in the Member States. Some Britons voted in 2016 in favor of leaving the European Union in the hope that Brexit would help reduce the number of foreign nationals arriving in the country.

" Our new immigration system will turn off the tap for low-skilled foreign workers ," said Interior Minister Priti Patel in a column published by The Sun on Sunday. “ Starting next year, all skilled workers will need to have enough points to work in the UK. They will have to speak English, have a firm job offer and meet salary requirements , ”she continues.
Labor shortages
Opposition members believe that immigration restrictions could harm public services, including health care, while some sectors depend on citizens of EU countries. The government intends to award points to applicants for immigration working in areas where there is a labor shortage in Britain.
