Eastern Ghouta has regained its health and status as a basic source of plant and animal food products after completing the rehabilitation of infrastructures destroyed by terrorism before the liberation of Ghouta and securing the necessary needs for the recovery of its livestock sector.
Engineer Irfan Ziada, Director of Rural Agriculture, said in a statement to the SANA Economic Bulletin that after the return of security and safety to Eastern Ghouta, the Directorate worked in cooperation with other institutions and public agencies to provide for the needs of livestock growth and care by restoring agriculture in many areas and securing feed, vaccines and medicines, For its main role in securing the food needs of dairy, cheese and meat for the people of the region, rural Damascus, Damascus and other regions, indicating that the total number of livestock flock currently stands at 47,648 heads of sheep, cows and goats.

Ziada explained that the Directorate completed numbering cows at the governorate level, including Eastern Ghouta, where the total number reached 101,000 head of cows in the province of Damascus countryside, in addition to activating the Agricultural Department in Eastern Ghouta, the veterinary center in Irbin, and extension units in Kafr Batna, Arabin, and Jaramana, and work is underway to restore Zebdine and Shebaa centers.
