"The people who matter in the office" # 7: the ambianceur!

LE BUREAULOGUE - Every Friday, Le Figaro gives you an appointment with a "cliché" character from our entourage who gangrene or brightens up the business world.

From kindergarten to the end of your higher education, from the primary school yard to your student evenings, there was at least one similar classmate, year after year: the ambiancor. Popular, funny, and "inspiring" , long before this word became fashionable. To sum up, this ambianceur was the suitable comrade, whom everyone wanted to have with them! Sitting next to him in class was an ego puffer, a mark of achievement far more important than a good mark in DS math. A few years later, in the office, things have not changed much in the open space: there too, ambianciers stand out. Their humor is contagious and gives a smile to their colleagues. Rather "big mouth" , they are faithful companions of afterwork !

Often, the school yard ambiancers become the ambassadors of the coffee break at the office! The ambassador's profile can also become a leader, when his performance at work is as eloquent as his jokes ... If the ambassador's jokes are too cool, if his role becomes that of a jester, troubadour of open space more maddening than inspiring, the limits of the ambianceur are reached: the top of his skull hits his glass ceiling. Conversely, when there is a perfect alchemy between humor, jokes, afterwork, and performance at work, it is not uncommon for the ambianceur to become DG, or reach high positions. How many founders of start-ups are also the ambassadors of their company?

And you, do you have ambassadors for open space? What positions do they hold? Obviously, certain professional circles or sectors are more "conducive" to the development of ambianciers ... No judgment, obviously, with regard to your trades, or your employers. But maybe we are more likely to find ambianciers in sales teams or in advertising agencies rather than in a notary's office or a team of computer scientists ?!
