She said the closings of cafes, restaurants, nightclubs represented " 800,000 businesses " and " 2 million employees ". She specified in this regard that the requests for partial unemployment would be valid on the date of their request, and not on the date of validation by the administration. If the traders who must close do not respect the closure, " the police will (remind) the employer, " assured the Minister of Labor.
Before Saturday night's closing announcements, there were 120,000 short-time work claims. For the self-employed who cannot access it, " we are looking at the solution of the equivalent of partial unemployment by tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, probably through work stoppages ". Asked about telework, the minister was very clear: " It is automatic telework for all those who can ", in principle 8 million French people.

" If they have a job at home, they don't go to their office, they call their employer and will agree on the terms, " she insisted.
