It will soon be two weeks since Enedis, the manager of the electricity distribution network in France, assumes its status of "essential business". Barely declared containment, a force of 4,000 people was assigned to priority missions. The first of these, the maintenance of electricity supply for millions of French people : "It is our core business, but in the current context, it is the priority of priorities" , underlines Hervé Champenois, the crisis director at Enedis. Hospitals and all health establishments in general are somewhat outside of this framework: in normal times, they already have the status of priority customers. In France, a very large number of establishments have this status, starting with the country's 8,000 nursing homes.
