For the past month, the Peters Surgical company has been operating on a just-in-time basis. This SME in Bobigny (Seine-Saint-Denis), created almost a century ago by two brothers engineers, manufactures single-use products for surgery. With the coronavirus crisis, it is a marginal activity of this company which finds itself in the spotlight: its probes intended for resuscitation services.
Among them, the so-called "Motin" probe, invented twenty years ago by Pr Motin, former head of the intensive care unit at the Édouard-Herriot hospital in Lyon, with the Peters Surgical teams. This disposable catheter is used to aspirate patients' bronchial secretions. Its special feature is that it is equipped with a protective sheath which prevents projections of secretions from caregivers.
