"Before the crisis, we were producing 3.3 million masks per week, at the end of April we will be over 10 million, we will have more than tripled in a few weeks." On a visit to the mask factory in Kolmi-Hopen, near Angers, Emmanuel Macron drew up an inventory of French production. A symbolic visit, as the shortage of masks will be remembered as one of the highlights of this crisis.

Kolmi-Hopen, a subsidiary of the Canadian Medicom, is one of the four mask manufacturers in France, to which many companies have come to lend a hand by converting their factories. The head of state announced that new players, such as Faurecia, Michelin and Intermarché had joined the national effort. This rise in power of French industry will complement the billion masks ordered from China.
