The French state again flies to the aid of the former national airline. If a nationalization is not on the agenda for Air France, it will receive loans for a total of 7 billion euros, announced Friday the Minister of Economy, Bruno Le Maire.
These loans will be broken down into 4 billion bank loans guaranteed by the state and 3 billion direct loan from the state, the minister said in an interview on TF1. "We must save our national company," he added, describing the plan as "historic".
A Dutch contribution should follow for the rescue of KLM, said Bruno Le Maire. The amount should be around 3 billion euros.
