Given the enormous demand on the first day to process the zero-rate credit for monotributistas and self-employed, the websites of the AFIP and the banks were unable to cope. Many taxpayers who tried to start the process were shocked by the frustration on the screen that says " this page does not work". However, from the official offices they assure that although there are some difficulties due to the large number of interested parties , the AFIP page is still available and several thousand people have already been able to start the process.

In one more example of the size of the economic crisis amplified by the quarantine, thousands of people rushed today to complete the process to access credit at a zero rate. Despite the fact that the period to manage this benefit before the AFIP  extends until the 29th of this month , the demand that was generated in these first hours made it impossible to access the system at times.

"There were some access difficulties. As the novelty goes down, it will be easier," official sources indicated. " There are already thousands of loans processed . The demand shot up very quickly, in tune with the difficulties that exist in the population. We understand the frustration that can be generated by the difficulties in accessing the process, but we want to transmit tranquility. Until 29 May there is time to manage credit . "

The credit will have a maximum of $ 150,000 and will be returned in 12 installments without interest from October.

From the government they assure that the system works despite the problems. "In fact, several thousand people were already able to do the process." This afternoon it will be announced how many procedures were completed before the AFIP on the first day.

It is also expected that information will be given on the number of companies that have accessed the supplementary salary program in which the State takes over part of the salaries of the firms and sectors affected by the quarantine.

The expectation generated by the implementation of these credits had a collateral effect. Many customers today found that they could not access home banking . Right at the start of the month, when demand increases because the purchase quota of US $ 200 per month that the Central Bank establishes for each taxpayer is enabled . In the midst of the uncertainty that is growing in a key week for debt restructuring, many wanted to rush to buy foreign exchange.

But there were problems in accessing homebanking because banks had delays in their servers "as a result of the installation of the systems required by the AFIP platform," they said from one of the entities. Those updates made the banks' websites work in the morning on and off.

Although the banks began to develop their systems to process these loans online, they have not yet faced the test of direct demand from their clients. The reason is that the AFIP is the body that initiates the process and until the validations are obtained from the Central Bank, the taxpayer cannot go to the bank to request the loan.

From the AFIP they stressed that the process can only be carried out by the person who meets the eligibility parameters: monotributistas and self-employed who do not work in a relationship of dependency, are not State providers, or collect pensions and who in these weeks have seen their activity slowed down because of the pandemic.
