From Monday, therefore, the number of Ile-de-France suburban trains that will run will oscillate between 50% and 60% of normal. The level will reach from 40% to 50% for TER, and 32% for TGV and Intercités. The main lines restart this Friday with 20% of the service and the return of low-cost Ouigo TGVs.
Travel will remain limited to 100 km until June 2, and " only travel for professional reasons or compelling reasons will be allowed for longer distances ," said the public group. Violators risk a fine of 135 euros.
In TGV and Intercités trains, the company will continue to sell no more than one seat out of two in order to respect the rules of distance, and reservations will be more than ever compulsory. The wearing of the mask is also compulsory on Friday.
New measures in stations
As during the strikes, the SNCF undertakes to publish the list of trains in circulation the day before at 5 p.m., and it will continue to be flexible on exchanges and refunds. It will also display the cleaning frequency at the entrance to each station and on trains.
Technological novelty: the SNCF mobile application must make it possible to know in real time the influx of travelers on trains.
The SNCF plans a whole battery of measures to organize this recovery by respecting the sanitary instructions, starting with the filtering by the police forces and the Railway safety at the entrance of the large stations to ensure compliance with the obligation of the wearing a mask in stations and on trains.
Incoming and outgoing flows will be separated as much as possible, while announcements and markings on the ground will guide travelers. Masks and hydroalcoholic gel will gradually be sold in Relay stores and Selecta distributors, and gel distributors installed in major stations.
