The General Footwear Company signed contracts worth 8 billion Syrian pounds to manufacture and supply about 600,000 shoes during the current year for a number of public agencies.

The General Manager of the company, Eng. Mohamed Khair Al-Rifai, stated in a statement to the delegate of Sana that these contracts enable the company to invest its energies and secure good financial resources with its keenness to develop its work and products by supplying many machines and equipment to supply the company's labs in Masyaf and Al-Suwaida, indicating that the two laboratories were supplied during the current year With heel fastening and nailing machines, fitted to the laboratory, with a production capacity of 800 pairs of shoes per shift per machine.

Engineer Al-Rifai confirmed that the company was able, through 642 workers, including 502 production workers, and during the first quarter of this year, to produce 124,000 pairs of shoes, with an implementation rate of 97 percent of the plan, and with an actual value of 1.135 billion pounds, indicating that the company's sales recorded during the mentioned period about 49 thousand pairs Shoes were supplied to public agencies in implementation of the contracts signed with them, at a value of 477.4 million pounds.

Al-Rifai indicated that within the plan of the Ministry of Industry and the General Corporation for Chemical Industries to rehabilitate and launch new production lines, the company is continuing to work to re-launch the shoe factory in Daraa from its new headquarters in the pasta company and provide it with new machines and equipment in order to complete a number of stages of shoe-making in the new factory that The final production process in the endosperm and Masyaf laboratories will be completed, in addition to the continuation of work at the Al Nabek plant within its current capabilities by accomplishing some stages of shoe manufacturing.
