Every day, Le Parisien mobilizes to answer your questions around the coronavirus. We are looking at Romain's question today: "My wife is pregnant, do I still have the right to refuse to come to work after June 2? "

A decree issued on May 5 conditions the criteria for being considered a vulnerable person. Only pregnant women "in the third trimester of pregnancy" are currently pregnant. This means that, if your partner is at the beginning of pregnancy and that she does not present a pathology or a particular risk in front of Covid-19, her doctor or the Health insurance will not be able to grant her a certificate of isolation. It is this document which allows an employee living with a vulnerable person not to return to work and to benefit from partial unemployment benefits.

At risk after the third trimester

You can always try to negotiate with your employer, if your profession allows it, to maintain teleworking, which must - the Prime Minister reminded us again on Thursday - remain the rule, while the epidemic continues to spread in the country.

We should also remember that pregnant women are not considered (except at the end of their pregnancy) to be at risk when faced with Covid-19.

The government nevertheless specifies on its site that "the High Council for Public Health recommends however to apply to pregnant women, from the third trimester of pregnancy, the preventive measures applicable to fragile people (for example: restriction or even ban on visits, contraindication for the use of public transport, limitation of contact with children under 10) ”.
