The South Health union announced on Wednesday that it was leaving the Ségur de la santé table, unhappy with the turn taken by this concertation, supposed to improve the working conditions of caregivers and the care of the sick. “ During the crisis, President Macron made a whole series of promises. But since the start of the discussions, we have seen nothing coming, ”said Jean-Marc Devauchelle, secretary general of SUD Santé Sociales, to AFP.

In a press release, Sud Santé criticized in particular the fact that the government did not make a quantified proposal on remuneration during the first meetings organized with the unions. Sud Santé, the fourth union in the hospital public service (8.5%), is calling for a salary increase of 300 euros net for all hospital staff, as well as a moratorium on bed closures in hospitals.
The Ségur, launched with great fanfare by Edouard Philippe on May 25 and piloted by the former head of the CFDT Nicole Notat, should lead by mid-July to concrete proposals for the public hospital and carers. But several unions are already annoyed with the way the discussions were conducted, denouncing a " parody of concertation " and a " communication operation ".
