About 600 people demonstrated Saturday morning in Châteauroux against the threat of dismissal of nearly 500 people in two logistics platforms belonging to the clothing brand La Halle, AFP learned from the prefecture of Indre.

Several elected officials were present at the demonstration, according to the same source. Last Saturday, several hundred people had already beaten the pavement with the same slogan in Issoudun (Indre).
Weakened by two months of closure during confinement, La Halle was placed in the safeguard procedure on April 21. Its owner, the Vivarte group, ended up asking for bankruptcy at the end of May.
Several takeover offers
Seven takeover offers were made, but none for the Issoudun (shoes) and Montierchaume (clothes) warehouses, near Châteauroux, where 285 and 202 employees work respectively.
In a letter sent to the Prime Minister and made public, André Laignel, mayor of Issoudun (PS), considers that the closure of these sites would be " an economic and social drama for our territory ". " Its size makes it unacceptable, " he wrote to the head of government.
