The Government of the City of Buenos Aires defined that about 30% of the employees of the Buenos Aires administration must wait to collect the Christmas bonus . But for the remaining 70% the money will be available on July 1, along with the settlement of the June salary.
The payment scheme defined by Horacio Rodríguez Larreta is this:
They will charge 100% of the Christmas bonus on July 1, together with the June salary:
- Workers in the Ministry of Health and the agencies under its orbit, members of the Police of the City of Buenos Aires, of the Fire Department of the City of Buenos Aires and all workers earning up to fifty thousand pesos ($ 50,000) of gross remuneration in the month of June 2020.
- The salary will be divided for workers whose gross salary for June 2020 is between $ 50,001 and $ 85,000 : in these cases the payment scheme will be as follows :
- July 15, 2020: fifty percent (50%) of the SAC will be paid
- August 15, 2020 : Fifty percent (50%) of the remaining SAC will be paid.
For workers whose gross salary for June 2020 is greater than $ 85,001
- August 15, 2020 : fifty percent (50%) of the SAC will be paid
- September 15, 2020: the remaining fifty percent (50%) will be paid.
In the Buenosairean government they indicated that the measure to divide the payment of the half bonus for those who receive the highest wages is "consequence of the sharp drop in tax collection , the need to allocate more resources to the health system and the increase in the payment of social subsidies ”.
The Buenosairean authorities explained that “the behavior of the collection during the months of April and May was 35% and 26% respectively below the interannual inflation. A similar situation is estimated for the month of June. Meanwhile, in May the default in ABL reached 47% and in Patents, more than 60%.
Regarding the Christmas bonus, this measure guarantees that more than 70% of the employees will receive it in full, together with the salary for the month of June , as it is normally settled. ”
They also stressed that "due to the economic consequences derived from COVID-19, the Government of the City of Buenos Aires faces multiple challenges, among which the urgent need to allocate extra resources to the health system to face the pandemic, the fall, in tax collection due to the sharp drop in economic activity and the increase in expenses for the payment of subsidies related to social issues. ”
The taxes where the collection suffered the most, during May, were the taxes linked to economic activity. The Gross Income Tax fell 15% below year-on-year inflation, while in Stamps it was 83%.
In the case of registered taxes, record levels of delinquency were recorded. During May, the delay in Real Estate Tax / ABL reached 47%, while in Patents it exceeded 60% in April.
