The French furniture manufacturing industry is playing big with the acquisition of Conforama by Mobilux, a joint entity of the Austrian group Lutz and the American investment fund CD&R, owner of But. For some suppliers, this acquisition is first of all a condition of survival. Due to Conforama's difficulties, the banks were reluctant to make a state guaranteed loan to several of them.
