Martín Maximiliano Guzmán had his day of fury this Monday. He began the day speaking with President Alberto Fernández, then met with the block of senators of the Frente de Todos; He met Axel Kicillof, Wado De Pedro and Matías Kulfas in the afternoon, and did not stop, throughout the day, to supervise the negotiation with the bondholders to reach an agreement on the external debt.

But this hyperactivity - which he also maintained during the weekend in line with the head of state at the Olivos residence - had a milestone at noon on Monday: the Minister of Economy visited Cristina Fernández de Kirchner at the home of the vice president to update her on the latest negotiations with the bondholders.

Cristina Kirchner remains very active in this matter and blesses the negotiating movements of Guzmán, perhaps his preferred minister, along with Eduardo "Wado" De Pedro , the head of the Interior and one of the chiefs of La Cámpora.

Fernández de Kirchner did not stop following the negotiation in detail. As he did on Monday of last week (as Clarín recounted) when at a lunch with President Fernández in Olivos, he analyzed the issue of Debt, at a meal that was also shared by Axel Kicillof, today the Buenos Aires governor, but also, former Minister of Economy CFK. There, it would have been resolved not to modify the position of "last offer" made by the national administration, something that also determined the fate of the Province, since Kicillof also tied its negotiation for the provincial debt to the fate of the Nation.

This Monday, then, Guzmán visited the vice president and gave her details of the latest talks that were carried out to end the conflict with the bondholders and reach a closure that would remove Argentina from default.

As Clarín anticipated this Monday, almost eight months after the government of Alberto Ángel Fernández began, the national government reached a debt agreement under foreign legislation for some US $ 64.8 billion. The changes made to the last offer would imply a modification in the payment dates, so the value of the proposal would slightly exceed $ 54.

The Government expects to have the details closed in the next few hours and then announce it. This offer would be the fifth from the Argentine government , after the formal start of negotiations with private debt creditors in late April.

After an initial net present value of about $ 39, the upgrade would now climb to just above $ 54. The bondholders, in their latest counterproposal, were asking for $ 56.6 dollars, which they would now be willing to resign in part.
