The Central Bank (BCRA) decided this Thursday to recognize inclusive language in any of its modalities as a valid resource to use in its communications, files, forms, documentation and productions of the institution.

The new regulation is part of the "Guide of the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic for inclusive communication" , approved this afternoon through a resolution of the Board of Directors chaired by Miguel Pesce as "an institutional commitment and contribution to the construction of a society more just . "

The Guide is made up of concrete examples, suggestions and recommendations, it offers options for naming collectives and groups, for expressing positions and positions, examples on the use of articles and pronouns, impersonal forms, and recommendations on the use of images.

"The BCRA's management, in line with the national government, has assigned relevance to the gender policy and respect for diversity. The first step was the creation of a specific management in the matter. With that same objective, the Board of Directors has approved the guide for inclusive communication, incorporating an effective tool that allows us to adopt an inclusive language in the texts, in accordance with the current national and international normative plexus, "said Betina Stein, director of the Bank in a statement.

With the new resolution, the BCRA reported, it seeks to " promote communication that avoids gender biases and sexist expressions , that does not reproduce stereotypes or situations of discrimination and that makes all gender identities visible."

He also explained that the objective will be "gradually to migrate from the masculinization of language to the interpellation of all genres".

"The incorporation of inclusive language is a feminist recognition pedagogy that impacts the hegemony of sexist language that builds segregations, hierarchies and violence. With this policy we are generating more equal work environments and preventing violence, especially, the violation of the right to gender identity, "said María Celeste Perosino, manager of Promotion of Gender Policies, Protection of Respect and Coexistence at Work.
