Night hiking in Germany: someone who set off in the dark gives tips


Book author Dirk Liesemer went hiking more than 50 times at night. Here he reveals why a flashlight is more scary than a wild boar. And what beginners should pay attention to.

Dirk Liesemer , born in 1977, is a journalist and book author. For his report book "Wanderings through the night" he set out again and again over a period of a year to explore the darkness. His rule of thumb: It takes the eyes half an hour to get used to the dark.
