The promotional offer, which increases the price of the Youth, Weekend, Family and Senior Advantage cards from 49 to 25 euros, is valid until

The imminence of the start of the school year already gives you the desire to leave? Good news, the SNCF is launching a commercial offer on its four “Advantage” cards, launched in May 2019 and already held by more than three million travelers.

The Young (between 12 and 27 years old), Week-end (between 27 and 60 years old, for a return ticket including a Saturday or Sunday), Family (allowing to benefit from a reduction for accompanying children) and Senior (more age 60), are available until September 7 at half price. Or 25 euros for the annual subscription, instead of the usual 49 euros. These cards then make it possible to benefit from a 30% reduction on tickets for twelve months, for the card holder, but also for an accompanying person. And 60% reduction for up to three children, from four to eleven years old.

"These offers concern all TGV Inoui and Intercités journeys, in France, but also on certain European destinations such as Italy, Luxembourg, Germany or even Switzerland", explains one to the management of the SNCF. These offers are also valid on the TER, but the reductions are in this case at the discretion of the regions. They should make it possible to maintain traffic until the end of the summer.

Free exchange or cancellation on all tickets until August 31

The railway company has already put in place after the deconfinement a low price policy to try to make up for the shortfall linked to the coronavirus crisis. Objective partially achieved since 8 million passengers took the train in July. And a little more, around 8.5 million should do the same in August. This is 15% less than the previous year at the same periods. “What to limit the breakage, we entrust to the head office. And ultimately do much better than what we feared in May. "

Another advantage put in place after leaving confinement: the exchange or cancellation free of charge on all tickets until August 31. Please note: this also concerns only the outward and return journeys which had to be made before this date. "This measure was put in place to compensate for the uncertainty that could weigh on travel because of the health situation", explains SNCF.

Because of the fear of a "second wave" of the epidemic, could the measure be extended? “At this stage, no decision has yet been made. We are of course evaluating all the possibilities, but that will depend on the next announcements from the public authorities. "
