European stocks retreated after being hit by negative economic data.
According to Reuters, the European STOXX 600 index recorded a weekly loss of 0.9% with the increase in the rate of infection with the Corona virus across the continent.
The German DAX index fell 0.5%, while Paris-listed shares fell 0.3%, while leading euro zone stocks fell 0.4%.
In London, the FTSE index fell just 0.2 percent, amid a weakening pound.
