Bonduelle is also awaiting a rebound in catering

Although resistant, the vegetable champion has seen its margins suffer from the crisis in restaurants and fresh produce.


Praised on the shelves since the start of the health crisis for its canned goods and frozen foods, Bonduelle has not escaped difficulties.

Its like-for-like sales increased 1.4% at the end of its financial year ended June 30, to 2.85 billion euros.

But margins suffered, with current operating income down 12% to 109 million euros.

Consumers, eager to go to supermarkets as little as possible per week, have abandoned fresh perishable products, which has penalized salads, bowls and Bonduelle catering products (37% of sales).

The closure of restaurants caused sales to restaurant and hotel owners to plummet (20% of activity).
