Praised on the shelves since the start of the health crisis for its canned goods and frozen foods, Bonduelle has not escaped difficulties.
Its like-for-like sales increased 1.4% at the end of its financial year ended June 30, to 2.85 billion euros.
But margins suffered, with current operating income down 12% to 109 million euros.
Consumers, eager to go to supermarkets as little as possible per week, have abandoned fresh perishable products, which has penalized salads, bowls and Bonduelle catering products (37% of sales).
The closure of restaurants caused sales to restaurant and hotel owners to plummet (20% of activity).
