The administrative justice maintains the closure of sports halls in the Lille metropolis ordered by the prefecture since September 25, rejecting the request of professional unions, the prefecture said Thursday.

Faced with the rapid deterioration of the health situation in the North
", the prefecture has banned since September 25 "
physical and sports activities in sports and indoor establishments, as well as in other establishments open to the public that can accommodate such an activity, whether public or private
”.
In his decision issued Wednesday and quoted in a press release from the prefecture, the summary judge of the administrative court considers that this closure "
does not appear disproportionate in view of the objective of protecting public health pursued
".
The decree "
does not call into question the possibility of practicing sports activities
" and "
aims only to prohibit, for a period limited in time to fifteen days, physical activities which, because they are carried out in places closed and covered, promote contamination and accelerated circulation of the virus
”.
This judicial setback of the managers of sports halls is added to those of Bordeaux and Nice, unlike Rennes which on Thursday suspended the order of the prefect of Ille-et-Vilaine.
