A motorcyclist flies into the sewer after an accident (Twitter @scereau)

There are quite a few ways you can screw up your life for yourself, or rather get into a situation where you will have to sell the 'underwear' to get out of the very deep pit you have entered.

One of the most "effective" options to enslave your future is an unfortunate decision you have made - to drive without compulsory insurance.

Every sensible person knows that this is a mistake, but the fact is that every year many accidents occur which in the end it turns out that the vehicle was not insured.

Some end in minor injuries and leave the person in charge with a pocket loss, but there are those who drop a 200-pound hammer on his head.

The beginning of the story before us in 2012, when a young man gets into an uninsured vehicle.

Minutes do not pass and the accident occurs.

The spectacle revealed to the veteran paramedic who arrived with an intensive care unit to the scene was difficult, to say the least: the guy's jaw disintegrated, all the teeth flew and his facial bones were broken, the liver perforated, the spleen torn, the kidney looked like the pancreas and the thigh shattered like a glass.

After stabilizing his condition, and a very long hospital stay, the guy was transferred to the Levinstein home for further long rehabilitation.

And who will compensate him for all the damages caused to him?

After all, there was no insurance.

In such a situation, Karnit - a public corporation established by virtue of the Compensation for Road Accident Victims Law, treats only bodily injuries and compensates victims of road accidents who cannot sue an insurer who can compensate them for the damage and suffering caused to them, including casualties by law.

Here, too, Karnit compensated the victim.

At this point, the driver or vehicle owner felt remorse for the accident and its consequences, but still did not feel the weight of the cornea.

It is only a matter of time until the full picture becomes clear, or as Adv. Assaf Warsaw, co-chair of the Torts Forum at the Bar Association, puts it: "Karnit has the right to return to the rights holder who allowed driving without insurance and so does the right to return to "Whoever drove without a driver's license. In fact, her right is to return to the defendants and demand that they pay not only the amount of compensation she paid to the victim, but a demand for payment of her full expenses."

This is what happened in this story, and even more: since it was an accident caused by circumstances that entitle the victim to Social Security benefits, the CPA probably also entered the picture, demanding that he also return all the sums he has already paid and those he will pay in the future.

And now, to the rule of law: the driver and the car owner are obliged, jointly and severally, to pay Karnit a total of NIS 1,294,294 as well as legal expenses plus attorney's fees at a rate of 13% plus VAT, of course. And what about the National Insurance Institute? Obliges the defendants, jointly and severally, to indemnify the National Insurance Institute for all the benefits Hela paid and will pay the plaintiff in the amount of NIS 1,372,228 as well as legal expenses in addition to attorney's fees at a rate of 13% plus VAT.

For dessert, the judge writes, "All the above amounts will be paid "Within 30 days, otherwise interest and linkage differences will be borne by law from today until the actual full payment."
